Vasectomy cost in the Houston area
Compare the full cost before scheduling. At Texas Vasectomy Center, self-pay consultation and vasectomy total $995 in one visit or $1,110 on separate days. Dr. Darren M. Chapman personally performs both.
Self-pay vasectomy pricing
These are the out-of-pocket prices for patients paying without insurance. The consultation and procedure are both performed at our office in Pearland.
Scheduling the consultation and procedure on the same day saves $115 on the consultation fee. Dr. Chapman still examines you and determines whether the office procedure is appropriate before proceeding.
Patients traveling from elsewhere in Greater Houston or across Texas can review the visit and follow-up plan before booking.
Consultation + vasectomy in one visit
$220 consultation + $775 vasectomy
Consultation + vasectomy on separate days
$335 consultation + $775 vasectomy
What the price includes
- A consultation and examination with Dr. Chapman.
- The office vasectomy and local anesthetic.
- Specimen cups and free in-office semen testing until two negative samples in a row.
- Medically necessary postoperative visits related to the vasectomy.
There are no hospital, surgery-center, anesthesiology, or general-anesthesia charges. The optional Pro-Nox and Fellow kit are additional charges only if chosen.
Additional future semen testing requested after clearance is charged. If persistent sperm require a repeat vasectomy, Dr. Chapman does not charge a second procedure fee.
Using insurance
Many insurance plans cover vasectomy. Our staff checks your benefits and gives you the best estimate available before your appointment. Insurance estimates are not guarantees because the final amount depends on how the insurer processes the claim.
For consultation and vasectomy on the same day, the consultation is $220 and is paid outside insurance. The vasectomy is billed to insurance; you are responsible for any deductible, copay, or coinsurance applied by your plan.
Self-pay prices are not estimates of an insured patient’s responsibility. Call the office to discuss your particular plan and appointment type.
Is a deposit required?
Ordinary appointments do not require a deposit. Payment is collected when a single-visit consultation and vasectomy appointment is scheduled. The practice also requires a deposit in certain rescheduling situations after a missed or late-canceled procedure.
Single-visit payments become nonrefundable at the seven-day point. Review the full payment, cancellation, and rescheduling policies before booking.
Is semen testing included?
In-office semen testing is free until two negative samples in a row. The first office sample is due at six weeks. The optional $140 Fellow mail-in kit is available for patients who prefer testing from home; its first sample is submitted no earlier than eight weeks.
A vasectomy does not work immediately. Continue contraception until the office clears you. Read the complete semen-testing and clearance instructions.
