Traveling for a vasectomy?

Plan your visit to Texas Vasectomy Center’s Pearland office. We welcome patients from the Houston metro area, Lake Jackson, Beaumont, Lake Charles, Corpus Christi, San Antonio, Dallas, and other communities across Texas and southwest Louisiana.

Every consultation and procedure takes place at our one Pearland office:
10970 Shadow Creek Parkway, Suite 255, Pearland, TX 77584.

A focused practice for an important decision

Vasectomies are all we do. Board-certified urologist Dr. Darren M. Chapman personally performs every consultation and every vasectomy. He performed 1,250 vasectomies in 2024 and 1,270 in 2025.

His approach combines needle-free local anesthesia, a no-scalpel opening, and an open-ended vasectomy with dissolving suture for tissue interposition. No permanent metal clips are used.

Review the procedure, recovery, risks, and testing, meet Dr. Chapman, and compare the full costs before planning your trip.

Before you make travel plans

  1. Call to discuss scheduling. Tell the staff where you will be coming from and whether you want a consultation-only appointment or a consultation and vasectomy in one visit.
  2. Complete the required paperwork. Single-visit paperwork must be received before the appointment can be scheduled. Use the patient forms and instructions.
  3. Review your full cost and cancellation terms. Single-visit payment is collected when scheduling and becomes nonrefundable at the seven-day point. Read the complete office policies.
  4. Discuss your return trip and recovery. Ask the office about your individual travel plan before booking transportation or lodging. Allow time for check-in, consultation, preparation, the procedure, and instructions.
  5. Decide how you will submit semen samples. Choose in-office testing or the optional Fellow mail-in kit. Testing is needed after the procedure before the office can clear you.

Patients considering a vasectomy from Lake Jackson, Clute, or Freeport can review the single-visit option when scheduling. Ask how in-office semen testing would fit your return-trip plans, or whether you would prefer the optional mail-in kit.

Lake Charles & Southwest Louisiana

Coming from Lake Charles, Louisiana? Take I-10 west into Texas toward Beaumont and Houston, then use the directions below for the final route to our Pearland office. Open the map with your planned departure time to review traffic, tolls, and the full journey before you leave.

Call before making travel arrangements to discuss appointment timing and your trip home. A single-visit appointment may combine the consultation and procedure when medically appropriate. The optional Fellow mail-in kit can reduce travel for semen testing; an in-person examination may still be needed if a concern develops.

Corpus Christi & the Coastal Bend

A visit from Corpus Christi requires a longer trip to Pearland. Before reserving a date, confirm your appointment plan and required paperwork with the office. The optional Fellow kit provides a way to submit semen samples from home after your visit.

Driving directions from Corpus Christi

San Antonio

If you are considering travel from San Antonio for Dr. Chapman’s technique, start with the procedure and recovery information, then call to discuss your timing. Plan room for recovery in your schedule and discuss any other activities you intend to combine with the trip.

Driving directions from San Antonio

Dallas–Fort Worth

Travel from Dallas–Fort Worth needs more advance planning than a local visit. Discuss transportation, appointment timing, and any lodging plans with the office before making bookings. A single-visit appointment can combine the consultation and procedure when medically appropriate; an examination may still be needed later if a concern develops.

Follow-up after you return home

Call the office one week after your procedure so we can check how you are doing and review semen-testing requirements. Routine in-office postoperative visits are not required.

If a concern cannot be handled over the phone, you will be asked to return for a personal evaluation by Dr. Chapman. Medically necessary postoperative visits related to the vasectomy are free.

Read the recovery instructions and follow-up policy.

Semen testing: office or mail-in

In-office: the first sample is due at six weeks. Dr. Chapman personally examines each sample. Two negative samples in a row, collected at least two weeks apart, are required. Repeat office testing remains free until that standard is met.

Optional Fellow kit: available from the office for $140. Submit the first sample no earlier than eight weeks after the procedure. One negative result is required through this option.

Continue contraception until the office clears you. See the complete testing instructions.
